2011 Event Highlights
The South Florida Jazz Hall of Fame
June 5th - the 2nd annual South Florida Jazz Hall of Fame installation ceremony
took place at Miami's Joseph Caleb Auditorium. Being at the Caleb, we naturally used the opportunity to honor the memory of Chief
Sandrell Rivers. As many of you know, Ms. Rivers was a contributor, perhaps the catalyst behind the transformation of the Caleb Center into the
thriving hub of community services and activities that it is today. In honor of her quest to bring the arts to every community in the Miami- Dade County area, it's our quest to keep her legacy alive.

the utmost importance for the continual growth, enrichment and advancement of our community, for our students and for our position as cultural leaders in the USA and Americas. The SJO is committed to creating avenues for Jazz performance, education and awareness by inviting all ages to enjoy most events free or at a nominal charge. We encourage you to go out and support live jazz thus allowing artists to develop and thrive, and SJO to continue producing exciting presentations in parks, schools, concert venues, and local nightspots.
